What Is LANAP?
The LANAP protocol, or “Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure”, is a gum and periodontal disease treatment protocol that uses a dental laser, specifically the PerioLase MVP-7, to perform minimally invasive procedures in order to selectively remove diseased or infected cells from the underlying connective tissue. This is done in order to address advanced stage (moderate to severe) gum disease. It is the only treatment protocol that has received FDA clearance (for True Regeneration) and has been scientifically and clinically proven to regenerate both soft tissue and bone. The three key components for the reinstitution of full oral function that it addresses are:
- New periodontal ligament
- New cementum
- New alveolar bone
